Yesterday’s sneak peek at the Energizer Rechargeable Solar Charger, a portable solar-powered AA and AAA battery charger that transfers sunlight to power, was a little light on the actual details.
Apparently, the device:

will feature a USB-out port to power other devices (since some cell phones, cameras, and GPS units have USB plugs, like most iPods for example);
-
can be charged from an AC wall outlet in addition to the sun;
-
and is weatherproof to withstand the elements.
Energizer says the Rechargeable Solar Charger will be available this summer and should carry a suggest retail price of US$49.99 – a price that includes two Energizer Rechargeable batteries.
