US Conservatives Are Purposely Making Their Cars Spew Black Smoke To Protest Obama And Environmentalists

This is one of the most insane things I have seen and heard in a long time. While I can see that this a rather obvious sign of protest, it lacks any sense for health and safety even if we leave the environment totally aside – after all those people are not interested in environmental matters in the first place.

Read the original article. It has some photographs and videos. Plain shocking. But I guess that's why they are doing it:

Pickup trucks customised to spew black smoke into the air are quickly becoming the newest weapon in the culture wars.

Even when we leave the whole environmental discussion aside and just ignore any discussion around climate-change etc, how narrow-minded can such a thing be? How inconsiderate, selfish and ignorant?

“The feeling around here is that everyone who drives a small car is a liberal,” a roller named Ryan told Vocativ. “I rolled coal on a Prius once just because they were tailing me.”

One of the better comments on the original article:

“This is why China is taking over the world. Fellow American's wasting their own money and in petty school-yard style tongue-sticking fights with each other in stead of getting on with work.”

And on a note, I drive a Prius not to save the world but because I like the less noise, the better speeding around corners, the significantly less petrol consumption that saves me money and the fact that they simply drive easily and well. Very selfish reasons. And I don't even like the design of the car but it does not matter to me because of the above.

So I guess some people should stop behaving like little grumpy kids, start using their brains an get on with . Or actually get a life in the first place.

We are all fish in a fish bowl. Trouble is that the bowl is so big that you cannot see it. Nevertheless we are all pooing into the water. Just a matter of time….
